Our trip was fantastic, and we will definitely be back! The resort was fantastic. The service was fantastic. Our favorite restaurant was the Mexican restaurant and next up was the Italian. I was extra hungry the night we had Italian and had 2 entres, it was worth it :). The hibachi was also amazing on our last night as well. The breakfasts were great when the buffet was open at the 2087 restaurant, which I think is normally open every day, but due to the circumstances the last day they had a menu to order from that was limited but Very very good still. I ordered the green enchiladas our last day for breakfast and they were to die for. There is also a breakfast to your room option, but the menu is very limited. So it depends on what you like to eat. We did it our first morning and had it set up outside on our balcony which attached a photo of. It was very relaxing. |
Everything went very smoothly; we arrived at the airport in Cancun about 1 hour early (pilot must have been a Chiefs fan) and got to the resort in plenty of time to get setup for the game. That game was out of control / and aside from some San Francisco fans, they all seemed to enjoy our excitement.
We loved the resort. It was small enough to keep us all in close vicinity to one another, but had enough space to spread out when needed. The transport to and from went great (and yes, there were plenty to drink on the ride to the resort). The flights were all great and the accommodations were terrific. The food was the best we have experienced in any resort that we have visited.
Really, the only feedback that I think you might find valuable is that the resort does not mandate reservations, but we found out quickly that we needed to book dinner reservations quite a bit of time in advance if you wanted to eat between 6-9. Which really was fine but you might warn future groups to go ahead and setup reservations as early as possible especially if you wanted to have a group of more than 2 for dinner.
Everything went very smoothly. And the Chiefs won! It was a great trip and sincerely appreciate all of your help.

We had an amazing trip and definitely want to go back. We did the Rio Secreto tour, which we plan on doing again and asking for a different cave. The Italian restaurant was our favorite at the resort, I loved the squid ink risotto and he loved the panna cotta. Oliver was one of the bartenders at the pool and his specialty drinks were fantastic! |
Hi Dave, Kim, and Team! |
Our suite was nice. We did like it. We weren't quite sure what to expect for our first resort trip but it was good. The food was great everywhere we ate there, which we heard was huge. We enjoyed that they had multiple different pools to choose from.
Flights and transfers were smooth also. We would say take time to do some of the excursions and take advantage of the inclusions they have. The one day we went and saw some Mayan ruins. Although it was an extremely long day and lots of riding in a van, we were glad we did it.
We always felt safe at the resort and on our excursions as well. Although we didn't have the swim-up suite, we didn't see a whole lot of people using them. And we met one couple that had one and they wished there was more privacy with the swim-up suite as they were right next to some main side walks.
A week may have been a bit long. We enjoyed it, but were also ready to be home.

Dave - Unico was a great suggestion; we had a fantastic time!
It was raining when we got there on Sunday and it rained again a little Friday and Saturday when we left, but for the most part we had really nice weather. A few clouds during the day, but mainly sunny and warm every day. The only thing that we didn't get to do was use the knee boards and paddle boats because it was too windy, even in the morning.
The pool areas were great; we mostly stayed by the main pool where the activities were; that's were most of the other people were too. The beach area wasn't very wide, and the sand had some rocks which made that area less than desirable.
The service was impeccable; the pool waiters were attentive and brought drinks quickly. The pizzas and tacos at the brick oven restaurant were really good; we had them several days for lunch. We really liked all of the restaurants although we didn't go to the Asian place as that's not our favorite kind of food. The only meal that wasn't up to par was the New York Strip steak; it was chewy and not very good. All of the other meals were very good. We heard from some people at the resort that we needed to try the Mayan Coffee at Cueva Siete (it's not on the menu). Excellent presentation and it was a fun end to the meal!
We missed the excursion to Chichen Itza because we didn't connect with the Amstar rep Sunday afternoon, and the only trip left Monday morning. However, Unico had their own excursion to Chichen Itza (but not the Cenotes) which turned out better because we didn't really care about going to the Cenotes anyway. We did the sunset cruise through Amstar which was nice, but the waves got to us a little. Other than that we stayed at the resort.
I'm sure that some people would have liked more evening activities, we were fine to just relax in the room after dinner. Ordered churros through room service almost every night; that was a great end to the day.
All in all we had a wonderful relaxing week; we both would definitely do it again at some point in the future.
Thanks again,
Brian and Denise
Dave,
Thanks for checking in and thank you again for helping us set up the trip - overall we had a great time.
I think we all enjoyed the resort - other than a bit of rain the first day we were there, the weather was very good and it was nice to be able to just hang out.
We checked out all of the restaurants on site and I think we all had different favorites out of the 4 of us, but agreed that all were very good with some great menu choices.
We didn't leave for any excursions - they were likely good deals, but we were mostly looking to just unwind and just decided to not do anything outside of the resort.
The transfers were fine - the ride out to the resort took a while (25 minutes or so?) to get hooked up with a driver - and the traffic was bad, so between that and our flight being late, we didn't get into the resort until 5:30 or 6:00 that first night, but overall not a big deal. The transfer back to the airport was much faster.
All in all, we enjoyed the trip and especially appreciated the direct flight back to Kansas City (although the plane was only 1/2 full - which we were surprised by...).
Thank you again and I'm sure we'll be hitting you up in a few months for some new ideas.
Have a great new year and we'll talk to you soon.

Hi Kim and Dave, |
Dave,
We had such a great time on our honeymoon, and are still feeling that post-wedding/honeymoon depression at the moment. Unico 2087 is a wonderful resort and we will definitely return there next time we're in Riviera Maya!
I want to express my gratitude to you and everyone at Love To Travel for putting our honeymoon together and for making everything a breeze for us. It was a moment in our lives that we will cherish forever and words cannot detail how much we truly appreciate everyone who has contributed in some way to making sure we had a wedding & vacation to remember. Thank you so much for the kind words and I hope to keep in touch - we are looking forward to traveling more often in the years to come!

Hi Dave! |

Hello! |
Hi Kim.
We loved Unico! The resort was beautiful and food and drinks were great!! I took advantage of the spa inclusions and loved them all!! Dennis went scuba diving in the ocean with a guide from the resort which he enjoyed. We went on a wine sunset cruise on an excursion on the evening of our anniversary which was so pretty and fun!! We also went on an excursion of zip lining, snorkeling and rappelling through the resort. It was very organized and safe. We highly recommend Unico and will definitely go back again😊thank you so much for your help! The arrangements and private transportation were all perfect.
We plan to organize a family trip next trip with our adult sons to a family friendly all-inclusive resort so we will contact you for ideas and plans. Thank you again, Jan and Dennis
Hi! |

The resort was awesome! Very well kept! We got the couples massage and would highly recommend it! We went parasailing which was a rush! All of the restaurants at the resort were amazing we didn’t eat a meal that wasn’t delicious! Jamie did floating yoga which looked fun but very challenging. Here is a picture from our balcony and then one in front of the of the 20. 87. Restaurant. |

Hey, Dave! |
|
Wow wow wow!! We had the TIME OF OUR LIVES!! Seriously! It was the best week of our lives! I will share more soon along with pictures. |
We could not have asked for a more perfect honeymoon spot... eternally thankful for the recommendation! This was EXACTLY what we wanted. Here are just a few things that made it so wonderful:
-The size: relatively small for an all-inclusive, by the end of the week you sort of started to feel a little sense of community. We saw several of the same guests and staff throughout the week and it was great!
-The view from our room was outstanding. And I also enjoyed being able to relax in the soaking tub after dinner in the evenings. Awesome robes, awesome service. They offer aromatherapy in your room each night if you want it, but that's actually a headache trigger for me. I told them it was important that we not have any and hoped for the best. It may sound odd, but our room always stayed fresh and unscented (not even the typical hotel smell of cleaning supplies, etc.) for me, that was a big deal and I was very grateful.
-Just the right amount of party. The pool got very lively and fun during the day, without having a "spring break" or college-type feel to it. We particularly enjoyed the awesome pool volleyball court they had set-up...so fun!!!
-The food and drink were out of this world! We had been warned by several friends that had done all-inclusives that the drinks would be weak, super sugary, all around not good. that was not the case at unico. They used the freshest ingredients and high quality spirits - can't say enough good things about the drinks. And the food, oh my! we didn't have anything we didn't like and it was all on par with some of the best food we've ever eaten! got to try so many new things. They did a fabulous job catering to gluten free diet.
The experience was truly amazing, could not have asked for more! Thank you so much for your assistance, and I hope our feedback is useful.

Had a great trip! Unico is a 10 out of 10. We didn't do any excursions, never left the resort! |

Hello there! |
Dave,
I wanted to drop you a note regarding our Unico vacation. You hit it out of the ballpark!! This was the best resort we have ever been to!! It absolutely checked all the boxes and then some.
The resort is beautiful, clean and relaxing. Loved that we had air conditioning everywhere as it was very hot. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating.
Room – Our room was the best room in the resort. We were on the 5th floor on the end of the building directly facing the ocean. We had the pleasure of enjoying the ocean view anytime. We could also look over the pool area if we wanted for the entertainment. We were close to everything especially the beach.
The room itself was perfect! The bed very comfy and luxurious. The bathroom awesome with a rain showerhead and two sinks. You were right about the robes, I loved them!
Beach – we loved the beach. It was clean, sometimes wavy. We were spoiled with a waiter who brought us drinks throughout the day. It was never crowded on the beach, which was so nice.
We did see an occasional stingray on the floor of the ocean. So please tell your guests to shuffle their feet when they enter.
Food – All the food was amazing. We went to every restaurant for dinner and the all was wonderful. It was so nice that the dress code was not strict. The buffets were unbelievable.
Butler – we had Daniel. He was very nice and made reservations for us each night for dinner. He told us the second to last night that we could have mixology come to our room. Unfortunately, they never came.
Excursions – As you know we love snorkeling. We opted to go outside the included excursions, as I was not interested in zip lining and rappelling on the snorkel excursion. We went with Vacation Makers and booked a snorkel excursion that we loved. We also splurged and did the Whale Shark excursion. It was worth it and a once in a lifetime experience that we will treasure forever.
Highlight of the trip – watching the huge sea turtles come into our beach and lay eggs. We also got to witness the release of baby turtles into the ocean. So amazing!!
Thanks again for the recommendation. It was a home run!!!
