Sandals RegenCy La Toc

Review by Jared and Delanie, 9/15/2020

Hi all,

Delanie and I had a great honeymoon to St Lucia! The resort was absolutely beautiful and the water was crystal clear.   La Toc is partially set on a hillside/cliff so there are some hills to walk up/down to get to the multiple pools and restaurants.  This makes the views spectacular but also can involve a decent amount of walking. We did not elect for a room with a butler service but if we returned we'd definitely go that route, I think it's worth the little extra money in the aspect that the butler will transport you to various spots via golf cart to avoid walking back and forth on steep hills. The beach at La Toc was plenty big for us and the water was perfect. The capacity of the resort was low due to just opening so we never had any issues finding chairs to lay out on the beach. We were able to take kayaks out on the calm water and the wind was just a small breeze every day.  We were only able to do water excursions on the trip due to COVID 19 so elected to do the explorer catamaran snorkel cruise and lover's rock sunset cruise.  Both great options, we would highly recommend the snorkel cruise, definitely worth the money as you are able to go to multiple snorkel locations on the way to spectacular views of the piton mountains.  We felt very safe at the resort, hand sanitizers were at every shop/restaurant and they required every guest to sanitize before entry.  The drive to and from the airport was a little on the longer side, about 1-1.5 hours depending on traffic with a lot of turns so if you're one to get car sick you can purchase a helicopter ride.  They usually break up the trip with a scenic stop for pictures half way through but were unable to because of COVID restrictions.  Overall, we highly recommend Sandals La Toc to any honeymooner!

Thanks for all your help making our trip great!

Oh my gosh! What a great week! Yes, Callie and I loved our suite. Even more so after a few days and talking to some of the other people we met, we came to the conclusion that we had the best located room!

We would highly recommend the Joe Knows Tour! The guide and workers were extremely friendly, and made sure that everyone had a good time. They also showed they truly enjoy what they do. We would also recommend making the rounds to all of the restaurants, they were all very authentic and were amazing! Make sure to check out the sunset just outside of the Italian restaurant! You will definitely not regret it!

We can’t thank you enough for helping us out and making our honeymoon something we will cherish for our entire lives! And what a great cap to the wedding festivities with the Chiefs win!!!!! We couldn’t have scripted it any better!! Thank you guys so much!!!

Hello!

Sorry for the late reply. The trip was amazing! We had a wonderful time! The Butler service is a must have! Our favorite butler was Delia. She was so professional, so kind and VERY organized. Even though we didn't use it like we could have we still got out of it what we needed to. The on site wedding staff was very welcoming. We had an idea of what to expect but to see it all in action was very impressive. The ceremony was amazing the weather was great (a little bit warm) and the pictures were great! I don't think Macee was thrilled with her hair but it looked great in our photos in my opinion. The whole ceremony process was amazing and they made us feel special throughout the entire process. The helicopter ride was really cool! I loved it but I think Macee was a little nervous because she was on the outside and the pilot kept saying how easy it was to open the door with you leg so I think Macee was more concentrated on not opening the door than looking at the view.

The excursions were all really great! And the snorkling was fantastic! Neither Macee or I have ever done it before and found it to be very tranquil and relaxing. We will be snorkling whenever we travel. I hiked the Gros Piton! I was the first out of 5 groups to make it to the summit. The guide, myself and a British couple just took off and all the other groups just moved to the side and let us pass. We made it to the top in record time. And on the way back we didn't take a break and made it back more than an hour ahead of the rest of our group and any other group.  Overall it was a great trip and we've already planned our next 3 sandals excursions! Anyone we spoke to about how we got married all said "We should have done it that way". It made us feel really good about our decision to get married the way we did. Thanks again for all of your help getting everything set up.

Kind Regards,

Eric and Macee

Hey Dave!

We ended up only doing ONE excursion, Joe Knows, which I would HIGHLY recommend for bang-for-buck. We did this excursion on our first full day at the resort and met a handful of friends that we spent a good amount of time with throughout the week! After having such a great experience with the Joe Knows tour we decided no other excursion was going to meet our expectations with price considerations.

We loved our couples massages. Thought about doing that twice.... HAHA! We didn't consider ourselves fancy drinkers as we stuck to Mojitos and some of the basics - all of which were very well mixed with no complaints. As for food, we did almost every breakfast at Armando's up the hill (would recommend to others), Neptunes & Bella Napoli for lunches, and Soy sushi for evening snacks. The snails at La Toc were awesome, steak & shrimp platter at Pitons was awesome, and the experience and food at Kimonos was awesome.

Thanks again - we will definitely be in contact with Love to Travel in the future!

Thanks,
Connor & Baylee

Hi guys!

Jade mountain was absolutely incredible!!! We even got upgraded to a galaxy suite!!!! The service was unmatched, staff was so genuine and accommodating and don’t even get me started on the food!!! We ended up going on a private tour of the mud baths, volcano, and the botanical gardens, which was so much fun and definitely measured up to everything we could imagine.

We arrived late in the afternoon and just took it easy the rest of the day. We went to the Cricketers pub and enjoyed a relaxing night in.

Thank you thank you thank you!! So far this trip has been out of this world!!

Dave,

Thank you. We really enjoyed our trip. The resort, room, and butler service was great. The Mutiny Explorer excursion was great. It was nice because once we got to Soufriere, we had our own private driver so we can do our own stuff at our own time. We also went deep sea fishing, which was also through the island routes. Both activities were great and would recommend both. Favorite restaurant on the La Toc was Pitons. But we did really enjoy the food at the beach party that takes place on Wednesday nights. Would really recommend going to that.

Thank you so much! Love to Travel helped us out tremendously.

Thanks,

St. Lucia was AMAZING. The weather was perfectly 80 and sunny every single day with the daily “wet time” where it would rain for about 10 minutes and then the clouds cleared and there was almost always a rainbow to follow. Just beautiful. We had two butlers and we were so spoiled we didn’t even know it. We ran into several couples who were asking us how to set up dinner reservations or spa appointments and we realized that we never had to even think about it! During our first full day at the resort our butler gave us a full tour and as we toured each area we were able to say what we were interested in doing. Without even waiting for us to ask, our butler was talking to the people at the counter of the spa and the aquatic center and the restaurant hosts setting up reservations for us. He knew our schedules so that we didn’t have to worry about it! Before each reservation he would come pick us up in our room and escort us to wherever we needed to be. We never had to worry about where we were supposed to be or how long it would take to walk there, everything was taken care of for us!
We enjoyed alot of time just hanging out on the beach and taking out the kayaks that were included in the resort package! The kayaks were so fun and easy to use and allowed us to be out on the water for as long as we wanted to be every day. The beach felt so private and was never crowded. We went out on one excursion through the resort’s aquatic center that took us down the entire south-western coast line of the island. We stopped in several coves and got a history lesson in each one. The tour ended with a snorkeling adventure where people in our group saw an octopus, puffer fish, eel, angelfish and lobster! On our way back to the resort at sunset, we ran into a pod of dolphins! They loved playing in the waves from our boat so we drove in circles for probably 15 minutes just watching the dolphins in the setting sun! It was raining on the island during that time which made the scene just perfect. Rainbows and dolphins jumping through the waves at sunset, it was incredibly beautiful.
Matthew loves to golf so we knew that we had to check out the golf course. Our caddy was so much fun to hang out with! He was able to give very helpful and professional tips about the course and how to get the best shot off. The course was just beautiful covered in mango trees and exotic plants built into the side of the Piton mountain range. We also did a couples massage that was extremely relaxing. Matthew and I had never had professional massages so it was the most relaxing experience. Our butler recommended we do it at the beginning of our stay before we got too much sun, and that was a good call on his part. Being relaxed from the beginning made our entire experience that much better.
I think if we went back we would for sure do the coastline/snorkel excursion again. It was a rare find though. Most of the excursions we had looked at online were expensive and most of them were all day affairs. This one was one we just happened upon during our initial tour that was offered through the aquatic center. It was $50 per person and honestly that was such a steal of a price for the amount of things we did and saw! So, I would definitely recommend that you visit the aquatic center to ask about tours at the beginning of your stay in order to score a deal on beautiful excursions. There was a couple on ours that had done the “Joe Knows Speedboat Tour” the day before going on the tour we went on and they said it was basically the same exact excursion but ours was way cheaper!
We are so thankful for Love to Travel and everything you did to plan our honeymoon. It was such a stress free experience and it made all the difference. Planning and hosting a wedding is so so exhausting, it was such a relief to not have to worry about any of the planning for our honeymoon. Sandals knows what they are doing and they also helped to make our experience seamless. We will definitely be returning to a Sandals resort at some point and we will definitely be giving Love to Travel a call for help with the planning! I attached a few of our favorite pictures from our trip for you!

Thank you so much!!

Review by Corrie & Jeff, 3/5/2018

Hi Kim!

We had the absolute BEST time in St. Lucia. It was without a doubt the best vacation either of us have ever been on. We fell in love with the St. Lucian culture, the people, everything! I've been to quite a few Caribbean countries and I was really surprised by how clean St. Lucia was for the most part. And it was nice not really having a language barrier (although Jeff was happy when he got to use some of the few French words he knows!).

Sandals was amazing. I don't know if we could ever NOT go to a Sandals again because they take such great care of you. When we first walked into our room, we were pretty shocked that we had a stunning view of the mountainside and ocean. On a clear day we could see Martinique (I think that was the island). I know we got the most basic room available but we felt so spoiled by that view. I had a massage which was worth every penny (the day after we hiked the Pitons which was perfect, I think I groaned during the whole massage!). We loved the pool bar and being able to eat at any of the restaurants at any time. We were definitely happy with our resort.

The Pitons hike was absolutely breathtaking. I will say we were terribly unprepared though. The entire trip we kept hearing that the hike was no big deal and that as long as you bring a water bottle you'll be fine. We had a couple bites of toast and fruit that morning and each brought a 16 oz. water bottle. Jeff and I consider ourselves to be fairly in shape and cut out for hiking and things like that but we were unprepared to the point that at one point Jeff had to stop the whole group because he almost fell from being so dizzy. There were a couple spots during the hike where you physically had to the climb up using mostly your upper body. This is not a hike for beginners or moderate intermediate hikers. It was pretty extreme. The views were great but we were so dehydrated I think all we really cared about was making it back down alive. I think it would be a nice excursion again knowing what we know now. There were several folk in others groups going up who we passed who had to abandon the hike mid-way. Overall, we're glad we did it but we were sore for literally a week after.

Two days before we hiked the Pitons (I realize this could be long-winded, sorry...) we took a Jeep excursion that was set up at the Sandals desk. It was basically just like a tour around the area for probably 3-4 hours. I think we actually enjoyed this more than the Pitons because we got to see more of the countryside and the locals. We went to a waterfall that was absolutely stunning and ate some local fruit from a vendor on the side of a mountain road. Our tour guide was amazing (I wish I could remember his name! It was something different like Monty or something). We felt completely safe with him and he was entertaining and knowledgable. Pretty much every question we had, he answered. We probably would've done that excursion every day if money was no object! It was so much fun.

It was truly the best week ever and Jeff and I made the perfect choice. Thank you SO much for facilitating everything and for making it such a smooth trip for us!

We wanted to thank you for giving us such and awesome honeymoon, I don't think we could have asked for a better time. We keep referring everyone we can to your company.

Our favorite things at sandals was the food and not having to worry about it costing and arm and a leg. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous. Over all though, I think our favorite part was Jade Mountain. They upgraded us to an infinity pool room for free when they heard it was our honeymoon. Not only that but we felt like royalty the entire time, and thank you so much for the bottle of wine. We enjoyed it right away under the stars from our patio area.

Yes the butler service was phenomenal, we loved having dinner served in our room, and they even drew us a bath after our horseback ride because they thought we may be sore!

We are extremely happy about going with Jade Mountain for 2 nights. Like I mentioned before, we felt like royalty, and we wish we would have stayed there longer.

Yes, we did the sunset cruise and the horseback riding. We absolutely would recommend both. The sunset cruise especially.

Yes, we would recommend it all to others, in fact we already have!

Thanks again, and we will be sure to use you again next time we need a vacation!

Review by Travis & Shonda, 8/12/2016

Which island and resort did you prefer?
St Lucia. It was quite a bit larger and seemed to have so much more to do than Grenada. We wish we had a little more time there.

How did you like your suites at each location and the butler service at each?
Suites in both locations were terrific. They were very private and luxurious on both accounts.
Butlers were definitely better in Grenada than St Lucia. We had Kerry and a guy who's name started with a G...can't quite remember. Kerry was unbelievable. He set us up a meal for lunch on our anniversary day that was terrific and they both took care of our needs without us asking. They were simply amazing.
The other butlers in St Lucia were nice but we had 3 different butlers. I was also a bit put off that when we arrived, nobody was there to greet us and when we went in to the butler's office to check-in, they were on the phone and got with us after a few minutes...just seemed a bit understaffed at that moment I guess. Sidney was off for a couple of days we were there so we did get Don. Don was nice but the butler's seemed very busy most of the time and not nearly as proactive. Sidney did call us one evening right before he left just to make sure we were ok in our rooms which was a nice touch, especially since we did need a ride but didn't want to bother him. Again, St Lucia butler's were fine but they just weren't what Grenada was in terms of that service.

Did you go on any excursions and is so would you recommend them?
We went on several.
Grenada - Diving at the resort incl. underwater sculpture park - was unbelievable and I would highly recommend it
St Lucia - 4 Hour Deep Sea Fishing - Well, I probably wouldn't I guess. There were 8 guests on that trip and it was just to many to get much chair time. We did catch 2 fish while we were at so it just didn't pan out well for us. The day before, another couple went and they only had 4 guests so that would have been better. They also didn't have any music
St Lucia - Joe Knows tour - Shonda probably enjoyed this a bit more than I did but it was fun. We got to see a lot of the island and see a lot of things. If we had more time, I would have just done something a bit more my speed. Less partying at the end and perhaps more time doing something truly unique. We just were doing so much that you had to hurry at each location. If you're there for a short time, I'd recommend it but if not, I would find something else.
