Majestic MIRAGE

Review by Lori, 12/7/2017

We absolutely loved the resort! I did have some anxiety and reservations with regards to the construction going on for the hotel next door ( and it was going on 24/7 and loud), but Morgan and Matt arrived about an hour before us and we all were able to get in BLDG 6 facing IN ! Our rooms were fabulous and Mike and I even got a corner 1br suite which was huge! The shower had two rain heads! Very luxurious ...Z and L had a great 1 BR and had a small issue with water leakage above and the Butler quickly moved them to another room in BLDG 6 and all was good ! Butler service great, housekeeping wonderful ...The grounds are breathtaking...we did everything on site...beach clean and beautiful, restaurants wonderful, the nightly shows fun (the kids were featured in the couples skit nite!) . The courtyard pre-show was awesome dancing with staff..which may I add were all outstanding and personable!  We did beach games, volleyball, swim up bars awesome drinks fab and good quality liquor...There is a Mirage Club Lounge ground-level in bldg 5  (also 4) and has food, drinks water, towels everything you need and avail to be in all day! We played cards one day when it was rainy and enjoyed the whole day there...the concierge in there did all our golf , restaurant and spa reservations and was just delightful to deal with! The kids all went for an hour spa for $99 and returned over 3 hours later and the staff had them enjoy all the amenities there in addition to the massage!
We did a semi private catamaran snorkel, cruise lunch day on Friday and it was beyond perfection! We used Hispaniola Aquatic Adventures and they were so professional, fun, clean, polite and it is a first class run group!  They grilled our lunch on the boat and it was the freshest crab, shrimp and etc and served on a table setting! Great great day!(I had heard of them on a previous trip and we were so happy!) We took down a bunch of Royals baseball caps and share with them all...the DR is a breeding ground for baseball academies and the Royals have an academy in Santa Domingo and all the young boys/sons have dreams to go there!
I could go on and on and give you more specific details of everything but all in all...resort is a 4.5...when the construction next door is down it will be a 5.0. It was really bad if you had a room facing that way...I think the resort was maybe 60% or less occupied with regards to that. So for us it was great because it never seemed crowded and we enjoyed everything offered and personal service was a 5!
Let me know how I can help with more info...
Thank you for everything "Love to Travel"  organized..our flights were all on time, customs a breeze and Island Sun transport very polite, efficient and on time for us all!! I think going Sat-Sat was the key especially over the Holiday .
Sorry this is a novel, I could still go on and on! Can't wait to book another adventure with you all---everyone was so wonderful to work with!!!
