Kevin & Shannon
Hard Rock Riviera Maya
July 2, 2018
We met in freshman history on our first day of high school. We were friends for years, but the summer between junior and senior year, we started dating. When it came time for college, we ended up going to different schools, but thought we'd try the long distance thing. Our careers took us to different sides of the state, with Kevin in Kansas City and Shannon in St. Louis. We kept driving and stayed together, though. Finally, we were able to be in the same city, and we made our home in KC. Shortly after, Kevin proposed on New Year's Eve.
Destination & Resort:
Hard Rock Hotel, Riviera Maya
Ceremony Location:
Chichen Gazebo
Reception Location:
Hacienda Overlook
Wedding Package:
Complimentary
Photographer:
Resort Photographer
Number of Guests:
35
Wedding Colors & Theme:
Mint and Pink
Honeymoon Location & Resort:
El Dorado Seaside Suites.
Favorite thing about the Resort:
It was big enough that everyone found something to love. Our friends without kids loved the Heaven side, but the families that came had a family friendly atmosphere on the Hacienda side. The kids loved all of the animals, especially the monkeys.
Excursions:
Mayan Ruins at Tulum.
Favorite Wedding Memory:
After our first dance at the reception, the flower girl desperately wanted to have a "first dance". She was falling asleep in Kevin's arms while they did their first dance.
Why did you choose to partner with Love to Travel for your destination wedding and how was the experience:
Kim was great to work with, and we felt like she really understood what we wanted for our wedding day.
Advice to other Wedding Couples:
Be meticulous with planning until you step off the plane at your destination. Once you're there, go with the flow and enjoy every minute.
