Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta

Review by DeeDee, 3/23/2020

Hello all-

Wanted to check in and give update on Hyatt Ziva in Puerto Vallarta. We absolutely loved the resort. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, the food choices and restaurants were plentiful, the campus was clean and hand santitizer was everywhere, entertainment was fun, the sand was so soft and no debris and clear, and the iguanas were great to watch.

Kind regards,

DeeDee

Hi Dave,

I have been meaning to email you to tell you how wonderful the trip to Puerto Vallarta was!

The unanimous opinion of the group is that Hyatt Ziva was excellent! The food, service, beach and facilities were all top notch.

Glenda Ruano the Food and Beverage Director was outstanding. Prior to arrival she was very responsive to email and worked with the chef and sommelier to come up with a special dinner menu for our group.  When we arrived she gave my wife and I a tour of the options they had for the dinner location and allowed us to choose what we thought would be best.  We chose the hold the dinner in the wine cellar which they include at no additional cost. At Secrets Playa Mujeres last year the resort wanted to charge $600 just to use the wine cellar.

I also had asked Glenda to incorporate our company logo and the words “Pinnacle Award 2018” onto the table. She was able to print our logo on the napkins and had the Chef decorate the dessert plates to include the award language.  See the photos attached.

She had the sommelier come up with 3 wine courses to pair with the menu and she kept right on our budget.

She even went a step further for our group and made reservations of a table of ten at the other restaurants each of the other nights to ensure that if we wanted to eat together as a group we could. It was very difficult to get a large group table at Secrets.

We also worked with the concierge team to set up a room drop of some wine, strawberries, and a note from our executive team. Beatrice Ulloa and Carlos Garcia did a great job with this as well. See photos.

The transfer’s through Nexus were perfect, right on time and easy.

My wife and I and one other couple went into town and explored Malecon, Isla Cuale, El Catedral de Guadelupe, and Old Town.  We loved the little shops and cobblestone streets. Really a beautiful town. A few of the group members went into town to explore the night life/dance clubs. They said they also had a good time.

My wife and I also took a snorkel excursion to los Arcos. Another top notch experience.

I would certainly go back to PV and Hyatt Ziva. We loved it.

Thanks again for all your help. All ten of us give the vacation top marks!

We had such a great time!! Such amazing hospitality!! You had everything set up so smoothly for us, and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your attention to those details!! Tony’s Birthday seemed to go on for days! He truly enjoyed every bit of it, and we both took advantage of the 30% off spa package!  I tell so many people about you all, and insist they check you out, and take advantage of your knowledge and expertise!

Thank you so much for everything! I’m sure you will be hearing from us next year!

Hey Dave,

The trip was outstanding!  The Hyatt was amazing.  I could not believe how close we were to the water and how nice it was to sit on the deck and just watch and listen to the water.  Of course it got off to a good start...thank you and Kim for the wine.  It was so nice to have when we got there and then a second bottle appeared and it was quite the surprise.  Thank you so much...it was delicious!  Puerto Vallarta was beautiful. Matter of fact we went into town 3 times because my Mom wanted to shop.  It rained about a day and a half but we had a great time anyways.  This was Mom’s 1st time to Mexico or anywhere International and she loved it.  She kept asking “when were we coming back” and “should we make reservations now for next year”?  I told her I wasn’t too concerned because I know Dave will take care of us.  How does the Hyatt Ziva in Cabo compare to this?

Again, thank you for all you do for us.  You guys are the best and it is so nice to go on a trip and have everything taken care of and so worries or stress. Again, thank you to you and Kim for the bottles of wine.

Some of my favorite things about the resort:

Private Beach
View from the room
Resort grounds were kept up and clean.
Staff was friendly and eager to serve.

Things that would have to change for us to return: Food quality..lacked flavor and variety.

We only went to the Malecon one night and ate at Casa Fantasia it was the best meal we had the whole trip!

Hi Dave,

Just wanted to touch base and let you know we had a great time at the Hyatt Ziva.  We loved the size of the resort as it felt like we really got to know the staff and it felt very comfortable.  Rueben at the Club Bar got to know the boys quite well !  The food was really good and crowd was perfect (a good mix and it didn’t feel like “spring break”).  We went Whale Watching which was amazing, did the waterfall hike and relaxed a lot!  We met some people who loved the Hyatt Ziva in Cabo so we may check into that sometime in the future if you have any feedback.  BTW- rooms have not been remodeled yet, only the two “show” rooms, but it was fine.  Rooms were sizable and good for what we needed.

All in all, another great “Love to Travel” adventure!  We are so thankful for your experience when planning our trips!

Our trip was wonderful. The resort was awesome. I have to start by saying we set our standards high by taking our first real vacation (honeymoon) to The Royal in Playa del Carmen! I'm not sure if all will measure up to how fabulous that resort is. However, this was a close second. We loved the proximity to the beach. We aren't big beach people (love to look at it, but don't love to hang out in the sand) so this combined the best of both worlds. The service was great. It was a quick trip from the airport and we ventured to the Malecon one day. Our room was ok - we did love having a balcony, so thank you for that suggestion. The food was pretty good - we loved the Italian restaurant for lunch, the steak restaurant for lunch and dinner and the breakfast buffet (I already forgot the names!)

Overall, it was a wonderful, relaxing trip and we look forward to future trips with Love to Travel.
Thank you for all of your help!

We had a really good time in Puerto Vallarta!  We went off the resort and did 2 excursions.  The first was Vallarta Adventures and we went to the Calentes island I want to say.  We felt a little rushed on this excursion.  We did the sea lion and Danika did the zip line there first.  When we came to the monkey portion she was told to look straight and really just pose for pictures.  So we felt like they just wanted to get through the motions for the pictures.  It was beautiful and still awesome and would still recommend but just not what we thought it would be for Danika. Then we went to Las Veranas.  This was our best excurision.   Danika was allowed to do this so this was one reason we chose this place. The resort seemed to try to push us to Vallarta Adventures but with her height we knew she could do Las Veranas. What a wonderful place.  We always envisioned zip lines in a jungle to be exactly like this place! The swimming slides at the end of our trip was a real joy! Then we got to go and see the monkeys and stay in there as long as we wanted.  Here we really got to experience some fun with the animals.  Here are a few pictures.

If I had to do it again.  I would bring the go pro camera with me on the zip line.  They make it sound like you cannot bring them but they do they just require it to be tied on you.  We did seem to spend a fortune for the photo’s from the sea line trip but I would say if I had to do it again only one parent would swim with our child and the other take photo’s from outside the pin.

We really enjoyed it and look forward to another trip soon!  Love the photo’s you keep posting on facebook and hoping to get to see those places too!

Hey Dave,

I just realized we never thanked you for everything you did for us nor did we send you photos from either wedding, so my deepest apologies! Here a Lee a few photos from both weddings and I will send some more of the excursions and just random ones that captured the great time we had!
