El Dorado Royale

Review by Tom and Judy, 8/14/2017

*We took a private tour to Tulum, snorkeling, zip-lining in the jungle and swimming in the Cenotes (underwater caves). We arranged it through Lomas in the lobby. At Tulum, we had a separate guide and could spend as much time there as we wanted. There was no pressure to keep moving along.  I skipped the snorkeling but Tom and Meghan did it. The water was pretty rough. They did see sea turtles. It was difficult because the guides for that just spoke Spanish. The zip lining was fun. Our driver did it with us. Swimming in the cenotes was a lot of fun. I was a little worried due to not being a great swimmer. But it was no problem. Everyone wears life jackets. Our driver was our guide and he took us deep into the caves.  Afterward they prepared a lunch for us complete with tequila shots. Need to remember big spray for this.  We left ours in the room. Had a chance to buy a vey small bottle for $10 before the ruins. But I honestly think it attracted mosquitoes!

*For a few hundred dollars we upgraded our room at check in. We had a swim up room which was terrific. Had our own personal concierge to help us. They made reservations for all of the restaurants for us. We were also steps from the beach with this upgrade. We hung out there and never did go to the crowded pool.  They brought us drinks frequently and ice cream every day at 3!  The staff was terrific.

Good morning Dave,

First I want to apologize, I had this reply saved in my drafts and decided to tackle cleaning up my email today and saw that it never sent.

We LOVED our honeymoon. Everything went smooth, flights and transfers and we loved the resort. We spent time on the beach and really enjoyed exploring the resort. We stayed busy when we wanted and loved the downtime to relax. All the restaurants were amazing and we tried to go to each one, but I don't think we did. We did go on a day trip to visit Chichen Itza that included a visit to a sinkhole with an underground river at Mayan Ecopark Hubiku and a stop on the way back at Valladolid, Yucatan and visited the Cathedral of San Gervacio. We also did an afternoon v
isiting Maroma beach to go parasailing. Our final night we did have a reservation at the culinary theatre. It was fun to try all the new foods and events (we don't get out much) :). In the evenings we caught a couple of the shows at the bar. We were mixed up on the time schedule, I think it took us a full day until we realized we had a time change- oops!

We loved the package you set up for us- the supper on the beach and champagne in the room was fun and the couples massage was good. We also loved the upgrade for the swim out suite! We were so happy with the trip and still make comments that we are ready to go back and have fun sharing our stories. I've told many family and friends about your company and have heard just as wonderful feed back about their weddings and trips as well. I've attached a few pictures for you too.
