*We took a private tour to Tulum, snorkeling, zip-lining in the jungle and swimming in the Cenotes (underwater caves). We arranged it through Lomas in the lobby. At Tulum, we had a separate guide and could spend as much time there as we wanted. There was no pressure to keep moving along. I skipped the snorkeling but Tom and Meghan did it. The water was pretty rough. They did see sea turtles. It was difficult because the guides for that just spoke Spanish. The zip lining was fun. Our driver did it with us. Swimming in the cenotes was a lot of fun. I was a little worried due to not being a great swimmer. But it was no problem. Everyone wears life jackets. Our driver was our guide and he took us deep into the caves. Afterward they prepared a lunch for us complete with tequila shots. Need to remember big spray for this. We left ours in the room. Had a chance to buy a vey small bottle for $10 before the ruins. But I honestly think it attracted mosquitoes! |
