Hello,

We had a great time on our trip! Travel was easy - there were plenty of people around to ensure the group made it to and from the airport safely. The staff were SUPER friendly. I've never had that fantastic of service. We loved how everything was in one central location. We could definitely tell it was a slower time of year. The evening events/activities had very small turnouts. However, this was fine for us since we were there to relax. There weren't a lot of people our age/honeymooners at this resort. Most were couples 35/40+.

We are so happy we didn't book any excursions ahead of time. This was the only confusing part of the trip, but actually worked in our favor! Other couples that came in with us plus us were scheduled to meet with a rep from Amstar (I think I have that right), the second day to schedule excursions. Most couples had already booked stuff through the resort, which ended up costing them more. We had assumed the person we were meeting with was part of the resort, not a third party, and had no clue she could help us get deals. Again, we were lucky were too lazy to book ahead of time. With her, she helped us get a free massage since we were honeymooners! We also went parasailing and night snorkeling. We weren't aware our resort had night snorkeling, so that was neat to do! Definitely a high-light of the trip. The parasailing was through a company off the resort - it was a little sketchy. I've done it before in the states and it was great! Overall fun, but I wouldn't do it there again.

We hung out at the beach a lot! This was the only resort that had rafts to take out into the ocean or pool - I know it's a little thing, but it was so nice to have!

We absolutely loved the food! We tried all the places and really enjoyed the variety of food. One of our favorite places was Lychee (Asian cuisine). We ate there twice for dinner because we enjoyed it so much. We're also glad we did the dinner at the reservation-only restaurant one night - it was so tasty and fun!

We had a FANTASTIC time and can't wait to go back. Even talking to other couples who visit yearly, they all said this Couples Resort is the best in Negril. This was a great location for us :)

Thank you so much for your help planning everything. It all went so smoothly.

Dave / Kim, and Love to Travel Team,

In regards to our Couples Negril vacation, I'd like to share the following comments:

We had a wonderful time.  This was our first trip to Jamaica, and were a little anxious about the process of entering the country and clearing customs.  With that in mind, we decided to purchase the MOBAY package, and found the entire process pretty easy.  We were greeted upon departing the airplane and ushered to the baggage area.  Once we retrieved our baggage, we were led to the customs area.  Our MOBAY rep completed all of our paperwork on the way to customs and escorted us past the other travelers waiting in line and through the customs gate.  The customs by-pass probably saved us about an hour.  Once through customs we were led to the MOBAY lounge where our bags were checked, and we waited until our ground transportation was located outside of the airport.  Within 5-10 minutes, our guide returned and told us she located our transfer.
After we retrieved our baggage from MOBAY, we were led to the airport doors by our guide (MOBAY guides cannot pass the doors with passengers), and she pointed to where we could find Kenroy.  Kenroy greeted us by name and led us to his awaiting van.  He allowed us a bit of time to grab a smoke while he loaded our bags, and then we left.  Kenroy had drinks waiting for us in the van (beer, pop, and water), and offered us some local snacks he purchased from a street vendor.  The snack was some sort of fruit that Kenroy had to teach us how to eat, it was pretty good!  The hour and 3o minute trip to the resort seemed to go by quickly as we were having a nice conversation with Kenroy as he pointed out multiple areas of interest along the way, and informed us about the local culture and history of Jamaica.

We arrived a Couples Negril and were escorted to the check in counter.  After saying goodbye to Kenroy and making arrangements for our return transfer, we began the check in process.  Our bags were brought to our room and we were given a brief tour of the hotel on the way, and once we reached our room.

Our stay was great!  The hotel room and common areas were clean, accessible, and in great condition.  The service was outstanding, and the entire staff was very friendly and attentive.  The pool area was well kept and not too crowded (no reserving pool-side seating ahead of the pool rush).  I do wish the servers were a bit more attentive to the poolside guests.  It took three days for them to hand out the red flags to pool guests to use to get the attention of the servers. The beach was clean, plenty of seating, and the servers were attentive.  We did like the fact that each lounge chair came with a "floatie" to be used in the pool or ocean.  The restaurants were great.  Plenty of choices and we were impressed that although there were four main restaurants, with one closed two days of the week, the menu choices changed each night.  It was as if there were more than the four restaurants because of the expanded menus.  The self serve fountain drinks, pizza, ice cream, and snack bar / vegetable bar ensured we didn't have to wait if we wanted a quick snack.

We have a lot of Caribbean to see, and may not get back to Couples Negril soon, but it's now on our list!

Kim –

The trip was amazing. This was a 5 outta 5 star experience. My new wife made me promise I’d take her back before we left on our last day.

We didn’t go on any ‘planned’ excursions because there was so much to do at the resort. We scuba dove, snorkeled, played sand volley ball, went on a catamaran cruise,  swam in  caves, laid in the ocean, laid in hammocks, smoked cigars, went shopping, golfed and ate like kings. And all of it was included with the resort!!! We did take a taxi to Rick’s café and jumped off cliffs there too.

I was really surprised with the all the returning guests at Couples Negril. Almost everyone was there for their second or third time. We even met an older couple that was there for their 9th time and they said they don’t go anywhere else.
The idea of couples only was also really nice because everyone was in a very friendly, romantic, ‘coupled up’ type of attitude.

Thank you guys for putting this together for us. We’ll be in contact when we’re ready to go back.
I’ve attached some photos of our trip!
Thanks again,
Andy
