Barcelo Maya Complex

Review by Kevin, 3/1/2018

Had an absolutely wonderful time. Barcelo is our new favorite resort. While swimming in the ocean we found our selves swimming with sea turtles, that was amazing! We did a few excursions, the catamaran scuba diving day trip, Tulum with swimming in a cenote, a day on Isla Mujeres and a day trip to Playa del Carmen.  The trip was great. Lomas travel was excellent in both travel and setting up our excursions. We are looking forward to going again next year.

We had a great trip and truly enjoyed the resort.  It was perfect for families. Our transfers service was nice.  Love that it was private!  I would recommend this resort for families. We went to Xel Ha and had a great time.  We would definitely refer others to this excursion.  Thank you for organizing everything for us.

Kim,

Overall we thought the Barcelo Maya Palace Deluxe was a pretty solid resort. The facilities and resort itself was very nice. Only downfall was for the first couple days our room was really far away from everything so it was a pretty long walk to the beach/pool area. However, they moved us up closer as rooms became available after a convention. We really liked the Japanese steak house and the complementary drinks were nice.

Excursions we did was four wheeling from the resort to a nearby under water cave which was a shorter fun excursion for only $60. The other was a snorkeling excursion where we went out on a boat and saw a different reef. The reef itself wasn’t anything that special – but getting able to ride on the boat was alot of fun.

Thanks again for all you help in setting it up – overall it was successful trip and my wife enjoyed herself.

Love to Travel Team ~

Thank you for a flawless trip! It was an absolutely beautiful resort, location and BEACH! Wow! We were extremely satisfied with the pool, bars, night-life. Our travel accommodations were seamless and timely (definitely recommend the non-stop flight!) Rooms were a bit messed-up when we arrived (tried to put our kids into a freshly painted room - still wet paint - then later into a room with three of them into a room with a king sized bed - but after a few calls to the front desk - it got worked out.

We took a cab into Playa one afternoon just to experience some of the local fair, but had plenty of that after only a couple of hours - pretty touristy. We did take a Tulum 1/2 day excursion that was awesome (included zip lines, repelling and a guided tour of the ruins) that we found to be well worth the money ($100 each).

The only knock on the place was the quality of the buffet food. Seems to be a common issue we run into. The specialty restaurants were very good, the daily buffet was flavorless and limited - seemed more targeted to the European pallet. We have just grown accustomed to the fact that this will always be a shortcoming and we didn't go hungry.

You guys rock! You have always set us up well and we will definitely be reaching out to Love to Travel in our future excursions!
